Forestry has a significant role to play in the economy of the region. In the Yorkshire and Humber region there are over 300 businesses involved in woodland management and the use of local timber employing over 3,000 people.
We are -
- Promoting local timber and other woodland products to processors, retailers and the general public.
- Creating linkages enabling the use of local timber and non-timber products by local processors and uptake by the retail sector.
- Working with local business to help them obtain Chain of Custody certification. Chain of Custody enables a business to market their products with the internationally recognised FSC logo which demonstrates the timber comes from a sustainably managed woodland
