Joblings of West Tanfield has been successful in securing 40% grant funding through the Yorwoods Woodfuel Programme. The Programme supports the development of the woodfuel supply chain throughout North Yorkshire, the East Riding and the cities of Hull and York.

Through the Woodfuel Infrastructure Programme, Yorwoods can provide capital support as well as a dedicated facilitation and advisory service for projects that require investments in fuel production, storage and supply and can even support on-site fuel handling and extraction systems for woodfuel production and heating projects.

Joblings, a firm of forestry contractors, also have a shop in West Tanfield where they specialise in handmade hardwood garden furniture and other wood products. By purchasing a Valtra M130 Forestry Tractor, the business has been able to vastly increase the amount of work it undertakes in the biomass supply chain extracting timber and leading out chip from a variety of sites.

The contract work undertaken is predominantly on local sites handling virgin timber which is destined for woodfuel boilers across the region, from local small boilers to large power plants like Sembcorp’s Wilton site.
