North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC), on behalf of the North Yorkshire Timber Freight Quality Partnership, has commissioned a Timber Production Mapping Study to help to inform the selection of the most suitable routes for extraction and how best to manage the consequential effects on the highway network. Yorwoods’ parent organisation Rural Development Initiatives has won the contract for this work and will be undertaking the study. Yorwoods itself will be involved in the collection of data from the woodland owners within the region contributing to the formulation of a plan to ensure that North Yorkshire’s timber resource is justly served by the regional transport network.
