Will Richardson

Will studied a Masters Degree in Forestry Management at the University of Aberdeen and graduated in November 1996 and soon after, took employment on a small private estate in East Anglia for two years where he gained promotion to Woodland Manager. Then followed two years working for a Tree Surgery and Forestry Contracting firm in Ripon, North Yorkshire, two years as the Woodlands Officer for Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council and a spell as an agent and consultant on forestry management and grant aid advice.
As the YORWOODS director, Will's role is to assist woodland based businesses to develop and access new markets for their products and services and to develop the biomass supply chain in the region. |

Ben Scotting

After service in the army Ben spent a year with the Forestry Commission. He then worked part-time as a self-employed forestry contractor whilst studying for a degree in Conservation Management at the University of East Anglia. Upon graduation he joined a Norwich-based forestry consultancy, advising and management planning for both corporate and private clients. Following this he worked as a Reserves Officer for both the Nottinghamshire and Suffolk Wildlife Trusts, managing a diverse range of reserves in a variety of urban and rural locations.
Having worked upon a forest certification project and a management handbook for ravine woodlands Ben is currently managing a biomass facilitation project in the North York Moors, Howardian Hills and Ryedale District Council areas and is lecturing on Sustainable Woodland Management at Craven College, Skipton.

Andrew Kitching

Andrew studied for his BSc in Forestry and Conservation at the Scottish School of Forestry, Inverness, and graduated in September 2002. He worked as a volunteer with the Yorkshire Dales National Park assisting with the design and implementation of woodland creation and management schemes. For the next four years he worked for the East Lancashire Woodlands Project, assisting both private and public landowners with woodland management and grant advice, as both Project Officer and latterly as Project Manager.
Andrew is currently working on the Dales Biomass Project, he will be assisting communities in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and Nidderdale AONB regarding the use of woodfuel systems and looking at local woodfuel supply chains.
