White Rose Forest Working Groups
Working Woodlands and Woodland Creation Groups.
Following the West Yorkshire Working Woodlands project, which concluded in March 2011, Yorwoods is still involved with facilitating the better management of woods within the White Rose Forest (WRF). As a signatory to the WRF partnership Yorwoods chairs the Working Woodlands Group, whose focus is to help enable the sustainable management of woodlands in West Yorkshire by providing advice on:
- Access to added value markets for both timber abd non-timber products
- Production and supply of woodfuel
- Grants and woodland management, with the intention of encouraging forest certification
- Training opportunities
Yorwoods also sits on the Woodland Creation Group, which comprises of organisations with interests and responsibilities in urban greening and new tree planting.
