Woodfuel Programme
The Woodfuel Programme is a 3 year project, funded by CO2Sense Yorkshire and Yorkshire Forward, for the development of the woody biomass supply chain across the region.
As part of this programme, Yorwoods will be delivering the service across the sub-regions of North Yorkshire and the East Riding which will also include York City and Hull City regions. The programme can provide capital support as well as a dedicated facilitation and advisory service for projects that require investments in fuel production, storage and supply and can even support on site fuel handling and extraction systems for woodfuel heating projects.

The funding is available for both the public and private sectors and will be focused on projects that can provide long term, sustainable woody biomass supply chains. The project aims to increase the amount of woodfuel being sourced and supplied locally and contribute to reductions in regional carbon dioxide emissions. The woodfuel must be derived from local, virgin sources such as woodlands, energy crops and sawmill co-products.
We are looking for high quality schemes to support. If you have a woodfuel supply chain project or are considering installing woodfuel heating technologies, we can almost certainly help. You will find a copy of the guidance notes and the expression of interest form below and contact the Yorwoods office to register your interest.
The project is also supported by Forestry Commission England who will be co-ordinating the regional approach to developing woodfuel supply and use. Yorwoods will be working closely with the Regional Woodfuel Co-ordinator, Rudie Humphrey.
